Professional Events

WE BUILD LEADERS. Every year MEANT organizes events to benefit our members in their professional growth. These activities cover wide range of topics such as the New Technology Trends, Specific Technology Topics of Interest, Workforce Trends , Professional Leadership, Balancing Work and Family, Financial Planning,  Immigration. Furthermore, MEANT keeps our members informed about similar events in the Metroplex organized by other organizations.

Math Olympiad

To encourage young America in learning Mathematics and Engineering, MEANT introduced the prestigious MEANT Math Olympiad. The event is conducted in October every year to encourage Mathematics among students from 1st through 11th classes. It is conducted at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) campus.  Seats are limited and we encourage you to sign up early.

MEANT Music Night

Music nights are events that offer a great networking venue for MEANT families. It presents an opportunity to be entertained and bring forth the fine musicians among members. Adults as well as kids take this opportunity to demonstrate their singing and other musical talents.

MEANT Picnic

A fun filled day  for MEANT families with various activities like barbecue, games, competitions etc. Families get together at a neighborhood park to network and enjoy the day.

Annual Banquet

The activities for each year culminate with the MEANT Annual Banquet held in January/February of each year. This formal MEANT event is also the venue where the winners of Distinguished Engineer award & Math Olympiad are recognized. The new Board of Directors also take charge at this event.

MEANT Camping

A short drive, overnight stay, good food, barbecue, camp fire, games, competitions etc. are the main activities of MEANT camping. Families come together at some offsite location for a night-out and to have some fun.

MEANT Community Service

MEANT and our family members are actively involved in our local communities. Our members are associated with various charity initiatives at our workplaces and neighborhoods. Every year MEANT identifies a local charity event where our members take part as an organizational group. Additionally, MEANT members are associated with charities such as March of Dimes, Fight against Juvenie Diabetis, Susan G. Komen, Catholic Charities, Lions Club, Rotary Club, etc.

MEANT Distinguished Engineer

Since 2007, every year MEANT has been recognizing an individual for the outstanding contributions made to the world of Engineering. The Distinguished Engineer of the Year Award serves as a source of encouragement to our young members

MEANT Scholarships

As part of our community outreach initiative, MEANT has instituted a scholarship program to help financially deserving Engineering students. Since 2007, we have been helping students achieve their dreams of becoming an engineer. MEANT also acknowledges MEA (Malayalee Engineers Association) Houston, for the partnership in the program administration. You can be a proud sponsor of this scholarship drive by contributing towards our efforts to put a deserving student through engineering college.

MEANT Job Leads

In trying economic times MEANT is stepping up serve the community by helping to find employment opportunities.
Networking is one of the most effective ways to find a position. MEANT is very excited to introduce a Job Leads Sharing Program for our members as well as non-members who are interested. We request our Members and patrons  to inform us about positions available in their companies or outside to [email protected] with subject "JOB LEAD". The leads received will be combined and emailed weekly or as needed to our members/subscribers.
